Launch Of ‘Living Heritage Center’

The Launch of the ‘Living Heritage Center’ was a historic moment for the nation and  probably the entire subcontinent as it promises to  a unique window to the rich cultural heritage of our country.  As Union Minister for Human Resources and Development , Shri Kapil Sibal , aptly remarked ,” The true wealth of a nation is its culture and heritage”.

The unique project is the Brainchild of the Surabhi Foundation  which has Pandit Shiv Kumar Sharma as its chairperson and Siddarth Kak , Anup Jalota, Prafulla Dahanukar  and Pamela Chopra  amongst others on its board of trustees. Shri Ashok Chauhan, Honorable Chief Minister, strongly emphasised that  the Living Heritage was the need of the hour and would offer valuable insights to the populace and in particular to the youth about our culture and heritage.

Well if you think this launch was all about long speeches and rigorous protocol , you are absolutely wrong.   Ashok Chauhan , Kapil Sibal and Yash Chopra tried their hands at kite flying and colourful kites in all shapes , sizes and colours adorned the sky. Music filled the air as Anup Jalota recited a vedic hymn to commemorate this auspicious occasion.  Medha Jalota and Pamela Chopra watched the proceedings with abundant delight. Prafulla Dahanukar and Raza Murad also graced the occasion.

Hand impressions of celebrities were taken and the same would eventually be part of the exhibits at the Living Heritage Centre. A nation without culture is like a body without soul. Three cheers to the Living Heritage Centre.
